Newton Aycliffe Juniors U9s vs MRFC U9 Hurricanes

🎵Football’s out for summer…🎵(apart from a few friendlies of course!)

The Hurricane’s season has finally come to an end, and what a season it’s been!

Today’s match was a fitting way to sign off, with both teams showing real defensive resilience to keep things tight and competitive throughout.

It wasn’t just about the first tackle today; it was the support from teammates, doubling up and working together to make sure the ball was won back. Testament to the work the team has put in over the past year.

Thank you for a great game Newton Aycliffe.

⚽️ Zach

🏆 Coach’s player: Josh
Did everything asked of him, held his position brilliantly, and built a wall in defence.

🏆 Parents’ player: Theo
A cultured performance, playing the ball out from the back, some quick thinking moves on the wing, and always being in the right place to mop up danger when it appeared.

🥇 Opposition player: Clarke
It felt like Clarke was running up and down the right wing on rails today. He never stopped and was ferocious in the tackle.

And finally a huge shout out to all of our Hurricanes - what a fantastic few months you’ve had. Every single one of you should be very proud of yourselves and what you’ve achieved! Well done ⭐

U13s Hurricanes 4-2 Boro Rangers Reds

A good quality game today, some great football on show from both teams. Boro took the lead early on but Middleton hit back quickly after Willis R found the net.

Boro again took the lead after a mix up at the back but again Middleton came back and levelled before the break as Jayden E slotted home.

After the break both teams continued to play some nice football and boro continued to ask questions of our backline but our shot stopper Jack B pulled off some real solid saves.

Middleton were creating chances of their own and took the lead as Jayden E got his second of the game after being found by Eduardo R.

Not long after the lads extended their lead as Eduardo R finished from the right into the left corner.

A good finish to the season with two wins in four days after an away 1-5 win at North Ormesby.

Well done boys cant fault your effort this season you've worked hard for each other and developed different elements of your game. We continue to grow and improve as we go into the tournament season.

So proud to watch you all grow from mini Rangers into strong young men

U13s Hurricanes 4-2

Stockton & Norton Ancients U8’s V
Middleton Rangers U8’s

Middleton went into the final match determined to finish on a high after losing last week for the first time in the league this season.

The game did not disappoint with both sides showing attacking intent from the outset which saw Middleton take an early lead.

Norton responded almost immediately with two goals which stemmed from unforced errors. However, Middleton hit back with two more goals to restore the lead but couldn’t hang on as Norton notched another to see honours even at half time.

Both sides changed things up for the second half and Norton came out stronger and grabbed the lead.

The game continued to be played at a high tempo by both sides in what was an enthralling battle with chances created at both ends as well as some fantastic saves by both keepers.

Middleton continued to press Norton and the pressure eventually paid off with a fantastic moment of individual brilliance which resulted in the equaliser to end the game a draw.

Whilst this wasn’t the result Middleton wanted, it was a great test for the boys today against a well organised and skilful Norton team.

The team has come a long way this season and although there is still plenty to work on everyone should be very proud of the progress made so far. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻

U13 Tornados 4-1 Craghead

1st vs 2nd today, both sides unbeaten going into today game.

We took control from the start, defended superbly, and an outstanding 20-minute hat-trick from Roman H really put the game beyond reach and stopped any momentum the opposition might have built.

Second half wasn’t quite as fluid, but the discipline and effort were spot on. We never let them back into it and saw the game out for a fully deserved win.

MOTM: Team performance 🏆
Every single player worked their socks off and played their part in handing Craghead their first defeat of the season.

Prissick Rovers Reds U8's V
Middleton Rangers U8's

The penultimate game of Middleton's season started very evenly with both teams playing some wonderful football. Middleton missing more key players again this week and a couple of the boys playing on the back of a few days of sickness, the game started with plenty of end to end action and both teams could argue they should have been winning at half time if it wasn't for the goalkeeping heroics from both no 1s.

The second half was very different, Middleton made some subs but started very slowly making a number of costly mistakes that Prissick took advantage of. A late surge nearly saw Middleton claw it back in the dying minutes as more changes and more saves were made - but Prissick held their nerve.
Just one of those games today where if we'd have took our chances and did the basics like we know we can we'd have left that pitch victorious.

All in all, a very good game against a very good, well organised team who were a pleasure to play against.
Both sets of boys left the pitch smiling and went onto have a brilliant development game together mixing up the sides and really enjoying themselves.

One more game to go ...

MRFC U11 Hurricanes vs NYSA

Middleton Rangers delivered an excellent performance at home today, from the first whistle, the team showed great energy and intent, moving the ball with confidence and purpose. Their passing and positioning were impressive, allowing them to control large parts of the game and build momentum throughout.

A key feature of the performance was the work rate and determination shown by every player. The team worked tirelessly for one another, pressing high, tracking back, and competing strongly in every area of the pitch. Individual battles were consistently won, which helped Rangers maintain control and disrupt the opposition’s play.

Overall, it was a complete team display, with quality shown both in attack and defence. The players supported each other well, stayed organised, and showed great spirit from start to finish. It was a performance full of teamwork, effort, and positivity—one the whole squad can be very proud of.

Middleton Rangers U8s V Riverside Juniors (Real)

A late pitch switch, a kick off time change, players missing, and 4 grown men battling the strong wind while attempting to put the nets up couldn't stop another positive Middleton performance.

With no recognised strikers in the squad the boys had to really adapt to change, step up, and push their game to the next level.

The playing conditions were tough, and the opposition were very well organised and tested the in form Middleton Goalkeeper much more than we would have liked. They were very unlucky not to be leading at half time, using the strong wind to their advantage. However, all the boys put a proper shift in, and with just the one substitute available, ran their socks off. Some great goals (and saves) by both teams and some super passing play from our boys, a real treat to watch at times.
The hard work in training on passing, moving, finishing, and organising set pieces is all starting to pay off....and best of all, the nets managed to stay intact for the entire game.

Big shout out to Grace who refereed the game excellently today.

Thornaby Town Spitfires v MRFC U7 Hawks

Tough conditions for the boys today with a strong wind and horizontal rain at times.

Once again they battled hard; and with the downhill slope and the wind ended the first half in the game which including a half way line looping goal from Theo.

The second half was deservedly edged by Thornaby with one stand out academy player making the difference for them.

Super effort, commitment and smiling throughout.
Support from the parents to all the kids is awesome especially in the conditions.

Well done. 👏

Happy birthday Claire Wase! 🥂🧡Shhh I’ll probably be in trouble for telling you all this 🤫
But we couldn’t let the day end without wishing Claire Wase a very happy birthday! 🥂🎉🧡
Claire is the backbone of our club and not much happens without her involvement from kits to sponsorship to putting on the best presentation and fun day known to grassroots football! Add to that a full time job, being a mum to Olivia and wife to our chairman Dave (to quote Aretha “behind every great man there has to be a great woman!”) we think she’s pretty awesome!
Happy birthday Claire!!

U9 Hurricanes - Tournament

What a day! Today our superstar Hurricanes travelled to Sunderland for a tournament, and they only went and won it! Our lads battled hard all day and despite not actually winning a game, drawing 2-2, 0-0, 1-1 and 0-0 in the group stage we went into the semi then the final where we won both games in a penalty shootout! Surely future England stars in the making liking to take it to pens!

Big congratulations to the team who’ve battled hard all year! Great day out for them all!

Once again a tough battle against a superior team with a couple of stand out players making the difference.

The boys are well organised, understand their positions and battle hard.

A superb performance from Joshua who has grown in to the role of centre back, and enjoying the position.

All of the boys kept their heads up and once again came off smiling.

The match was played in a friendly but competitive spirit. What more can we ask for.

Well done again!
