U9 Hurricanes - Tournament

What a day! Today our superstar Hurricanes travelled to Sunderland for a tournament, and they only went and won it! Our lads battled hard all day and despite not actually winning a game, drawing 2-2, 0-0, 1-1 and 0-0 in the group stage we went into the semi then the final where we won both games in a penalty shootout! Surely future England stars in the making liking to take it to pens!

Big congratulations to the team who’ve battled hard all year! Great day out for them all!

Durham Wolves 5-3 MR Hawks

Top of the table clash which was set up to be a quality game. Two teams who both played some good football with some quality goals. But creadit to Durham for taking more of their chances than us.

The Hawks played some quality football throughout combining welll with each other and some great 1v1 battles.
We keep going and and keep fighting all the way lads. 💪🏻

Darlington Feethams v MRFC U7

Once again a tough battle against a superior team with a couple of stand out players making the difference.

The boys are well organised, understand their positions and battle hard.

A superb performance from Joshua who has grown in to the role of centre back, and enjoying the position.

All of the boys kept their heads up and once again came off smiling.

The match was played in a friendly but competitive spirit. What more can we ask for.

Well done again!

MR Hurricanes u13s 1-5 Boro whites

Very difficult game today for those that were available. 5 players out with illness or injury meant we had 11 players able to play and some carrying injuries and not fully fit after being ill.

Still, what a great effort by those in orange & black. Great fight and spirit and a Willingness to keep going. We were in the game at halftime going in with only a one goal deficit.

Boro showed why they are at the top of Division 1 and took their chances well but the lads always tried and kept going. They were rewarded for their efforts after a good bit of play down the left and a perfect cross from Freddie A found Henry J in the box to head home.

At 1-3 down we had to go for it and pushed players forward risky but had to try. Unfortunately this left us short at the back and Boro manage to seal the win.

So proud of those little men a great fight and effort today boys, on to the next one we go 👏🏻💪🏻⚽️🟠⚫️❤️

Middleton U8’s V Darlo Young Bulls

Middleton came out of the traps quickly and played some lovely football which resulted in an early lead.

The boys continued to attack with confidence and went close several times, which prompted Young Bulls to change things up.

The new personnel for Young Bulls made an immediate impact, completely changing the dynamic, which resulted in a fantastic equaliser.

Similar to last week, the game opened up and both teams showed their attacking prowess with more goals for both sides to go in level at half time.

Middleton was full of endeavour after the break but struggled to replicate the fluency of passing of the first half with numerous unforced errors seeing Young Bulls take a two goal lead, despite the heroics from the Middleton keeper.

As full time approached Middleton upped the pace, knowing that its unbeaten run was on the line and went close on several occasions before grabbing a goal with a couple of minutes to spare, in what appeared to be a consolation.

However, Young Bulls conceded a penalty in the final minute of the game that was brilliantly dispatched into the top corner to draw the game.

It was a tough test for the boys today and they showed great skill as well as true grit to retain their unbeaten run. Well done everyone! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻

Cup Match report - u9 Spitfires

A bright and breezy trip to the coast for the next round of the cup. The boys delivered a strong team performance against a good side. Kicking off with the slope against them, the boys showed great work rate and resilience throughout.

Strong pressing up front, solid defending, and good movement in midfield kept the game competitive, while confident goalkeeping helped manage sustained pressure. Plenty of energy across the pitch, with dangerous runs, quality crosses, and determined defending on show.

Lots of positives to take — great effort, teamwork, and attitude throughout 💪

🏆 Coaches Player: Owen- stepped up in goal and made critical saves
🏆 Opposition Coaches Player: Sam- excellent work rate creating. Chances
🏆 Parents Player: Freddie- strong and composed at the back

Finished off with fish and chips, ice creams, arcades, and even a sea dip for the brave few 🥶 A great chance for team bonding and great day all round!!

Middleton Rangers U8’s V
Northallerton Town Reds

It was a chilly morning and it appeared that most of the boys were still thinking about being in bed as opposed to on the pitch with little resemblance to the performance last week at the outset, which saw Northallerton take a well deserved lead.

This, however, seemed to wake Middleton up with the boys upping the work rate and equalising from a well worked corner.

Things still weren’t quite clicking for Middleton with some great opportunities spurned and Northallerton took the lead before half time with a great effort.

Middleton changed things up at half time and the team started to play some nice football, pressing Northallerton into multiple errors and clinically taking advantage with two fantastic strikes.

Northallerton started to up the tempo and the game became very entertaining for the neutral with more goals at both ends.

Middleton made good use of its subs again and it proved to be the difference with a couple more well taken goals.

The boys dug deep today and played some excellent football in the second half. Well done, everyone. 👏🏻

MR Hurricanes 2-1 Richmond

The lads got off to a great start moving the ball well and creating chances and were ahead after 15 mins as Henry J showed determination in the box to finish well.

Shortly after Middleton extended their lead after a penetrative pass from Willis R to find Joe B who whipped the ball across the box for Henry J to finish and make 2-0

Second half Richmond push the lads and created chances and were rewarded for their efforts with a rocket of a goal. A good effort by both teams 👏🏻

Match Report - U11 Hurricanes

Middleton Rangers cup fixture against Darlington, putting in a determined and spirited performance from start to finish.

From the first whistle, they worked tirelessly for one another, displaying excellent teamwork and commitment all over the pitch.

There were some fantastic passages of play, with the team moving the ball confidently and supporting each other well in both attack and defence. Their effort and attitude never dropped, even against a strong opposition, and they continued to battle right until the final whistle.

The performance was a real credit to the team, highlighting how much they are developing as a unit. They should be proud of the way they played, showing resilience, determination, and most importantly, a great team spirit.

Plenty of positives to take forward from this one.

Shildon 1-2 MR Hawks

Tough battle for the lads today but they stood up to the test and managed to find a way. Goals from Jasper H and Alex G in either half was enough to take the points although, it may have been more after Simeon T was found at the far post only to be ruled off for offside.

Shildon battled well and gave a good account of themselves so creadit to them.

MRFC U9 Hurricanes vs Saltburn Athletic U9s

On a blustery Mother’s Day morning, Saltburn Athletic welcomed the Hurricanes for a lively match played in some brisk coastal winds. 🌬️⚽

The conditions made things tricky, with the ball sometimes racing away on the breeze, but both teams showed fantastic energy and determination. Saltburn pushed forward with confidence while the Hurricanes battled hard, chasing every ball and never giving up.

A lovely moment came at the end of the match when Saltburn clubhouse handed out daffodils to the mums on the touchline - a really thoughtful gesture. 🌼

And on that note, a huge shout-out to all the mums, the sideline heroes behind our budding young footballers. Your support builds the whole team. Happy Mother’s Day! ⚽💐

South Park Rangers Reds V
Middleton Rangers U8’s

Despite the early kick off, Middleton came out of the traps quickly, pressing South Park Rangers high up the pitch. The pressure paid off almost immediately with two quick fire strikes.

Middleton has a tendency to play like England when they have a lead but this was not one of those days as Middleton attacked relentlessly with goals flowing from all over the pitch.

In the second half Middleton changed things up, but despite South Park Rangers having an extra outfield player, the boys listened and carried out their instructions to a tee with the goals and great football continuing to flow.

This was without question the best football the boys have played since the team started. It was a joy to watch and they should all be immensely proud of themselves. The hard work in training is really starting to pay off this season. 👏🏻
