U11 Spitfires V Marton Royals

Back in cup action today, in the 2nd round, at home to Marton Royals.

Up against a div 4 team, today was always going to be a tough game for our spitfires but they more than held their own and played some great passages of football. The lads had great shape, in and out of possession and their work rate as a team was top class 👏🏻

Some great signs of progression today, lovely to hear more talking and supporting each other. A close game throughout, with only a couple of top class goals been the difference between the two sides.

POTM
Anyone could have won the player of the match but this weeks winners were:
🏆 Austin for his talking and staying calm the whole time and his distribution was excellent 🧤

🌟 Elliot - for being a top class defender, who played well and was always organising and giving his all for the team

well done Spitfires, proud coaches and parents today 🧡🖤

MRFC U11 Hurricanes vs Whitby

On a cold and windy Sunday morning, the young Rangers put in a fantastic performance in the cup game today.

Despite the tough conditions, the team started brightly and played some excellent football, working hard for each other all over the pitch. The defence stayed strong and organised, the midfield battled well, and there was some great teamwork going forward to create and finish chances.

The effort, attitude and team spirit were outstanding from start to finish, and it was a great performance by the whole team.

Well done, Rangers great effort today.

MRFC u7s v Bishop Auckland St Mary’s

The boys are learning to battle hard and compete for every ball.

The first half was edged to Bishop and to be honest could’ve been more but some good saves by Theo and a couple of lucky breaks against the posts meant the boys were still in with a shout second half.

The team was reshuffled with Theo outfield and a break saw Theo through on goal, initially saved but scored the follow up.

Everyone competed for every ball, Jack up front pressed hard to pen Bishop back.

A shot was saved by Archie who pinged it forward, Theo ran through and scored again.

The final goal a direct free kick scored by Theo.

The boys worked hard, demonstrating great effort and determination.

Well done.
Amazing team performance

MRFC U9 Hurricanes vs Pools Youth Whites U9s

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
The Hurricanes battled hard,
The whole match through.

The Whites were sharp
With some clinical strikes,
But the Hurricanes answered
With some of their own delights.

There were brave tackles,
Great passes and runs,
Super team spirit
And plenty of fun.

They never gave up,
They worked as a team,
Chasing the ball,
And chasing the dream.

As the final whistle blew,
They’d given it their all,
So proud of our Hurricanes,
Standing strong and tall! ⚽

⚽️ Zach
⚽️ Reggie
⚽️ Mitch

🏆 Coach’s player: Mitch
Mitch saw plenty of action today on dead ball duties and made a real impact with some composed passes, capped off nicely with a goal at the end.

🥇 Parents’ player: Dan
Thankfully Dan didn’t freeze solid in the wintery conditions! The Whites kept him busy, and his gloves were red hot with a string of sharp, confident saves.

MRFC U10 spitfires V Guisborough town

A solid performance in the cup this morning with the lads sticking together and playing some really good football.

It took us a while to get into the match, but the lads showed grit and grew into the game after HT.

Our focus on passing and moving really showed, with a good display of football on show.

Cleveland Hall Blues 1-4 MR Hawks

Hawks were back in action today away to Cleveland Hall playing at Northumbria University Sports Campus and we were spoilt with the facilities, top notch.

Hawks took the lead with a sublime team goal, passing through the thirds and breaking lines with accurate passing.

Cleveland Hall managed to pull a goal back after a slight mix up in defence and go in at the break level at 1-1.

2nd half the lads cranked up the pressure and pinned the opposition back for most of the the half and scored a further 3 goals for their efforts. Could have and should have been more as the lads played some quality football.

Shout out to our shot stopper Joey C, who for most of the game had little to do, who was called upon in the last 5 or so mins to make 2 top 1v1 saves! 👏🏻

Keep up the hard work boys youre playing lovely football 💪🏻⚽️🟠⚫️
